Why Bamboo
Rather than metal or plastic, bamboo has been selected to construct many of the structural parts of our systems. A constrained layer plywood variant is employed for its performance abilities. It is non-magnetic and therefore provides a “quieter” electrical environment for acoustic systems.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, it is ideally suited to hi-fidelity listening. One of the reasons why bamboo grass imparts an ideal sound to an audio system is its density. This is because density affects the speed of sound as it travels through a particular material. The bamboo grass stem ranges form a less-dense inner region, to an extremely dense and fibrous outer region that comes close to that of carbon-fiber reinforced polymers. Many traditional woods have a much tighter density range, making them suited for a narrow range of acoustic applications, where bamboo is better capable of producing sound for a large variety of instruments.
Therefore, it is often the case that varying blends of woods are used to get a desired result, where bamboo, in contrast, covers the full range on its own.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Treatment
Each product undergoes a hemp oil bath that penetrates deep into the bamboo, and then hand-sealed in beeswax. This oil and beeswax finish, along with the constraint laminate structure, tunes the bamboo and makes the unit dimensionally stable and very resistant to changes in humidity and mould (hemp oil is a natural bactericide and fungicide).
Care & Cleaning
Care for our bamboo products is similar to that of wooden furniture: it will need to be dusted from time to time. In this case, please make sure your equipment is secured, and wipe/dust down with a clean, dry, cotton cloth. Should one wish, once a year they can re-wax the bamboo parts with our Beeswax-Hemp Oil Finish.
