The EOS Integrated amplifier is one of the most powerful integrated amplifiers in the Trafomatic Audio line. It is constructed as push-pull using the well known KT120 output tubes.
 

Output power is 100W per channel, which is sufficient for most speakers, even those with lower than average sensitivity. This is a integrated amplifier and doesn’t require a preamplifier.

 

Based on previous work on negative feedback, -6dB has been applied to provide a sound equivalent to a good Single Ended circuit. Cathode feedback was selected for enhanced musicality. Bass is well controlled, dynamic response is excellent. As such,  and this amplifier is top of its class.

 

A well designed out-board power supply unit utilizes a 800VA toroidal transformer and separate C-L-C filter circuit per channel. Output transformers are based on a Double-C core configuration, and Solen fast capacitors are used throughout.

The EOS + amplifier is a similar in design to the EOS. It is a more powerful push-pull version using the most powerful of the current production KT tube - the KT150.
 

Output power is a hefty 150W per channel, which drive speakers with demanding loads. The EOS+ is available in two versions : a stereo power amplifier, and an integrated amplifier that doesn’t require a preamplifier. And, given Trafomatic's Head-Fi origins, it is kind of second nature for them to include "Uber-Hi-End Headphone-Service" in most of their components :=)) ... and the said "headphone service" involving a competent Headphone Output delivering a very potent 3W into 50 ohms !

Description

The Elegance Evolution Integrated amplifier combines the output stage of our most powerful Evolution series amplifier with input switching, and a passive buffered attenuator (ALPS) driven by remote control.

 

The class AB power stage in ultra-linear mode produces 50 watts per channel from a quartet of push-pull connected 6550 (KT88). Manual setting of bias of each 6550 is new feature, and allows adjustment of the bias ... even on un-matched output tubes !

A small amount of cathode feedback lowers the output impedance and ensures excellent bass control and dynamics. Ab "all new" power supply greatly benefits from an oversized, proprietary Trafomatic Audio 300VA toroidal transformer, C-L-C filtering and Rubycon electrolytic smoothing capacitors.

 

Excellent sound is achieved via the high-quality double C-core output transformers, and the exclusive Solen (fast caps) in the signal path.

 

Elegance Evolution amplifier was designed from the ground up to satisfy both demanding audiophiles and music lovers. It can drive speakers from 88dB with authority, refinement and emotional impact.

For more power than is easily available from 2A3 and 300B direct-heated triodes, we offer the EL84-based Kaivalya mono amplifiers. This project began as a custom commission for an audio magazine editor. It is now a production item in our top White Range. The brief submitted for this project asked for 45-type refinement and speed, lower THD, higher linearity, more bandwidth and 25 watts of power.

 

Our solution was a class A push/pull pentode power section with four EL84/6P14P-EV and solid-state rectification. This stage is driven from a single-ended 12AU7/ECC82 driver. Interstage coupling using our own 11-section transformer with 38 windings eliminates coupling capacitors. Between driver and power stage, we apply a very minimal 0.3dB of local negative feedback for a significant reduction in harmonic distortion. The minimalist signal path of five tubes and two transformers is accompanied by a very overbuilt power supply. It includes three 10H Trafomatic smoothing inductors for the G2, driver stage and high-voltage power supplies.

There are custom Trafomatic standby, power and dual C-core output transformers, current-limiting overload transistors and a LM317T voltage stabilizer for the driver heater supply.

 

The mono amplifiers are finished in high-gloss white lacquer for the copper-lined solid wood casing and four transformer covers. The screwless top plate with engraved tube markers, the terminal plate and the power knob are fine aluminum. Custom paint colors are available by request. An engraved plexiglass tube shield is lit from below with concealed white LEDs during operation and orange in standby. WBT speaker terminals offer 4- and 8-ohm connection. The input sensitivity is 3V to optimize volume range of a partnered preamplifier.
