Atalante Series

LISTEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Our Aim, Our Promise

The goal of the company is simple: To perfect true listening experiences through products of decades-accumulated craftsmanship, and value the listeners.

We offer only tier-1 technologies and products, simply because that’s the standard where we came from.

With Revival Audio, you will see that the brand did not want any “Gaudy” design that would inflate the cost of the product. Sound is our first priority, and it is to be experienced without fatigue.

We inherit the legacy, renovate the legacy, and together with all our listeners, build our Own Legacy.

THE REVIVAL STORY

A NEW LEGACY STARTS HERE

From Alsace, France

Revival emerged out of almost four decades of “savoir-faire” gained from many well-known flagship models among top tier brands, and

its first "creations" saw the first light of day at the end of 2021, driven by the passion and expertise of its two founders :

Daniel Emonts

Master Engineer in the industry for more than 30 years.

Emonts is no stranger to high-end audio. Being a self-confessed audiophile of more than 40 years, his professional capacity dates back to the turn of the century as an Acoustics Engineer with Altec Lansing, three years with Focal, Chief Design Engineer and Technical Director with Sound Matrix Corp and IT Electronic, and more recently as Chief Acoustic Specialist at Dynaudio.

At Dynaudio Emonts was also responsible for significant releases and technology, including the Heritage Special, Special Forty, Confidence, Contour, and best-in-field tweeter Esotar3, HEXIS tech. He was also responsible for Focal's Grand Utopia EM, Electra S, and Electra Be².

In an interview he shared a few personal thoughts on his background that gave insights to his design orientation :

"I grew up in Belgium and I'm a child of vinyl, which has always been a part of my daily life. I was immersed in a musical childhood at home with a very music-loving father who listened to, as he said, the "four Bs": Brel, Brassens, Beethoven, Bizet. I've always been self-taught and learned technical skills "on the job." I've always built my own amps and speakers; I had to build my first amp at the age of 14. My background in electrical engineering and my fluency in three languages (French, English, and German) also brought an advantage throughout my career, especially internationally.

My career which began in Brussels in the 1990s, included numerous consulting mandates, and extensive collaborations in the field of acoustics in all its forms, including mobile telephony and automotive acoustics, These even include collaborations with BMW and Volkswagen, but more notably, in the audio industry with Altec Landing, Focal, and more recently, Dynaudio.

I believe I've always retained the DIY side of my youth, and I've always sought to improve technical solutions through listening, which for me remains the essential factor when deciding on a particular technical option. Measurements and technical data are of course important, but I've heard so many speakers that sound great on paper but ultimately lack any soul...

Jacky and I have a certain nostalgia for the "yesteryear" speaker format, and the Atalante 5 is a kind of "homage", as is the Atalante 7EVO. We also wanted to rediscover and offer a sound signature from "yesteryear". But, to do this, we also wanted to create a speaker with many of our own technical innovations.

As I told you previously, I'm a vinyl kid, and all my comparative listening is essentially done using analog media. At home, I still have five turntables.

All the technological choices we've made have been systematically validated through listening. I believe this is also what makes our project and our speakers so valuable"

Jacky Lee

A Swiss-based Taiwanese, multi-talented Strategist Executive, who built many successes with the top-tier Danish Hi-Fi brand, IBM and L’Oréal.

On the origins of the Revival Brand Jacky Lee recently commented :

"We agree that the loudspeaker market has shifted toward more elegant, slim designs—especially as people live in smaller spaces and lifestyles become faster-paced. But from our experience, full-size loudspeakers are still incredibly relevant—and even increasingly appreciated.

The classic, old-school speaker form is actually back in trend. Many customers are looking for that vintage charm, but they don’t want old sound—they want modern performance wrapped in timeless aesthetics.

That’s where we come in.

At Revival Audio, our mission is to revive not only the performance of high-end loudspeakers, but also the ritual and culture of deep listening. This is, quite literally, the reason behind our name. The Atalante 7 Évo is a bold expression of this goal: a large, elegant, three-way loudspeaker that blends legacy style with cutting-edge technology and musical soul."

DESIGN & Technology

At Revival Audio, every technology behind our speakers is designed entirely in-house.

We DO NOT buy off the shelf ! Every aspect of our speakers is meticulously crafted and engineered in our laboratory in France by our team of exceptional engineers.

Innovation and a passion for listening pleasure drive us in our relentless pursuit of the best sound quality.

These unwavering efforts have given life to our proprietary technologies and the exceptional Revival Audio speakers you experience today.

Key Technology Elements

RASC™ 28mm TWEETER

RASC™ 75mm MIDRANGE

PERFECT BALANCE

We’re passionate about the unparalleled qualities of soft-dome midrange drivers—delivering smooth, accurate sound with zero listening fatigue.

Designed and perfected by our expert engineers, the 75mm (3-inch) soft-dome midrange driver redefines performance in its class. It’s not just exceptional for its range; it stands as a contender for the best midrange driver in Hi-End audio, period.

INVERSED DOME SUSPENSION
Perfect Imperfection

The inversed suspension provides a more linear resonance-free guiding of the dome. The more higher frequencies are reproduced the less the dome itself emits sound.

The custom shape of the suspension helps to have a better dispersion, as waves travel freely to the side

RASC™ COATING RECIPE
Key control

After hundreds of hours of experiment, our very own coating recipe brings perfect break-up control and the most accurate, smooth sound reproduction

ARID+ Patented Technology
Next-Level Innovation

Our 75mm midrange works like a piston between 400Hz and 5kHz, so they are no breakup modes.

ARID+ is a special-shaped dome, where the surface has been designed with the simulation software Comsol, to avoid any resonances and to guide the waves behind the ARID to be then absorbed in the large back cavity.

Due to the lack of damping material behind the dome, high frequencies are extended, resulting in what we aim for :

... “tonal balance”.

OUTPERFORMING LARGE FERRITE MAGNET SYSTEM

Φ140mm, Extra Large!

The large ferrite offers a high magnet force, similar to smaller neodymium magnets, but for significant lower price (which helps us achieve to set a more attractive retail price).  It is as well more eco-friendly using ferrite magnets.

A comfortable efficiency of 91dB is reached with this system. Also, the large mass of ferrite and the metal part absorb more heat from the voice coil and helps for better cooling.

BSC™ Drivers

First-Ever In Hi-End

Feel The Dynamics And Precise Punches !

BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction) drivers are definitely a Revival Audio unique and iconic (visually too) technology.

Basalt is extracted from lava stone which has never been used in

Hi-End audio, with similar characteristics as glass fibre but better Young modulus. It is also an eco-sustainable material.

The Sandwich construction consists of a specific felt applied the back of the membrane and a specialized damping glue which results in the best-possible damping.

With BSC drivers, the lightweight and rigidity with great damping provide a fast and smooth response with tight and clear dynamics.

BASALT PROPERTIES
From Lava Stone, to the Best Drivers

Basalt is mainly found on cooled-down lava or magma flow, which

is a dark grey colored so-called igneous stone and found in huge quantities all over the world.

Transformed basalt fiber has interesting properties which makes it suitable for the use in loudspeaker diaphragm.

Its Young modulus is also significantly stronger than glass fiber, and much stronger than Kevlar. We thus use it also for its sustainability, as it’s a non petrol-based material.

Revival Audio cones are impregnated Basalt fiber fabrics, with a rather thick layer of glue at their back and covered with a layer of felt from special-made fibre, which constitutes a stiff but well damped cone, with a high sound velocity within the membrane.

BASALT SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION
The speed of stiffness

Basalt is unique in the world of high-end audio and has never been used before as a material.

It is extracted from lava stone, which exists naturally in abundance on earth, and doesn’t need to be produced from petrol : It is recyclable, and thus eco-friendly.

In order to get the right damping within the membrane, we build

the cone as a sandwich, made from a Basalt fibre fabric as the top layer, a polymer glue and a felt in the middle; and a specially customized foam-based cone as the bottom layer.

As a result we get a membrane which is stiff, light, well damped

and with a good speed of sound propagation.

ASYMMETRIC OPEN-BASKET DESIGN
Optimized for best results

We made the most vented basket possible in order to maximize the open design benefits, simple is that!

CROSSOVER DESIGN

Built to Last

At Revival Audio we tune the crossover by hand, by placing real components on one tuning board, and measuring the results. When done, we listen (a lot) and fine-tune, after that we check again with measurements that we went into the right direction.

Sometimes, a change of value is very little visible on the measured curve, but can make all the difference in sound.

Our philosophy of crossover design is, that … we don’t have a philosophy.

We use as few components as possible, but all that are needed.

We chose Van Den Hul’s Skyline Hybrid “Halogen Free” cables for our crossovers in ATALANTE models. Each lead combines 19 high purity Oxygen Free Copper strands with a coating containing Linear Structured Carbon.

That’s the reason why we can stand out, that’s all about experiences and expertise.
